Veterinary Services activity is guided by ordinances and laws, Israeli law, and municipal bylaws. These include the municipal ordinance, animal ordinance, and rabies ordinance. Bylaws include: supervising dogs and cats, supervising the sale of meat and meat products.

Veterinary Services maintains direct professional contact with veterinary services in the Ministry of Agriculture and is professionally subordinate to the Ministry. It remains in contact with the Ministry of Health, the National Parks Authority, and the Ministry for Quality of the Environment.

Spaying stray cats.

Locating dog owners who do not pick up their dogs' droppings – via DNA tests.

Dog gardens.

Facilities for distributing bags for collecting animal droppings and special refuse bins for dogs.

Placing bait for rabies immunization – for wild animals in the city's periphery.
